A reborn doll is a one of a kind artist masterpiece, created through many hours of loving labor on the part of the artist. Reborns begin their lives as either high end collector dolls (such as Ashton Drake), high quality, realistic play dolls (such as Berenguer or Cititoy) or blank vinyl or silicone kits created from original artist sculpts. Through a long process of painting and detailing, the artist transforms a doll into a true work of art. Realism is the goal, and every artist has his or her own way of making their dolls lifelike and special. No two reborn dolls are every exactly the same and this is part of their appeal among collectors and doll enthusiasts worldwide.
